MRAAA announces additional sites in Mahaffey, Coalport, for seniors in need of tax assistance

CURWENSVILLE, PA. – Two additional sites will host a one-day only Tax-Aide Day to assist seniors in need of help filing their income taxes.

The Mahaffey Center for Active Living will host a Tax-Aide Day on March 13. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 814-277-4544.

The Coalport Center for Active Living will host their Tax-Aide Day on March 20. Appointments can be scheduled at Coalport by calling 814-672-3574.

These dates and locations are in addition to Tax-Aide scheduled for Mondays and Tuesdays at the Curwensville Alliance Church in Curwensville starting February 6, and running until April 15.  Consumers will be seen by appointments only. Those who wish to register at the Curwensville location may call the Tax-Aide hotline at 814-765-2691 and leave personal contact information.  A tax aide volunteer will then call to set up an appointment. Participants are asked to have all their tax documents ready.

Mature Resources Area Agency on Aging, AARP, and the IRS have partnered to sponsor the free Senior Tax-Aide program. 

Since 1968, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has provided free tax help to over 75 million taxpayers, with a focus on older adults with low to moderate income. Tax-Aide volunteers are located nationwide, and are trained and IRS-certified every year.
